Field of the invention:
The present invention relates to a method and a device for growing plants and / or fungi, preferably edible mushrooms, wherein a tiltable plant culture module is used. Preferably, the plant growing module is hydraulically operated so that the worker can easily harvest the cultivated plants.
Background of the invention:
It cultivate of edible mushrooms is worldwide one thriving business activity where also many workers turn into employed. The harvesting from edible mushrooms however, is one difficult task in front of workers who work on it the traditional ways for it
cultivating mushrooms.
Traditionally, mushrooms are grown on horizontal grow beds or trays that are stacked on vertical racks in a wet room. After cultivation, the mushrooms are selectively harvested by workers who lean over the trays and cut off hand-selected mushrooms and transfer them into boxes.
For the hand-picking process, the worker must lean over the horizontal dishes and can only pick a few mushrooms at a time. This process is not only uncomfortable and stressful for the workers' backs, but also tends to break some of the plants that are not fully grown. In addition, in one

BE2018 / 5537 situation where the culture dishes are located high on the vertical racks, the worker places ladders or uses a pulley system to reach the height of the culture dish and to pick the mushrooms by hand. That is why this process is bothersome for the worker and also tidal.
There are currently various alternative solutions such as one described in CN203985152. This prior art discloses a frame body, tilting trays and a driving device of the mushroom growing bed. The drive device, with a drive shaft, allows rotation of the tilting trays so that the mushroom trays come within reach of the worker. However, a disadvantage of this device is that the drive shaft is operated manually in order to bring the tilting trays to a desired position. That is why this process is tiring and time-consuming.
Another patent document, NL1027511C, discloses a method for harvesting mushrooms from a frame structure comprising a moving platform (plate) and cassettes with mushroom trays present therein. The worker must stand on the platform (the plate) that moves up and down by means of hydraulic cylinders. A disadvantage of this method is that the worker has to harvest mushrooms on a moving platform (plate), which is an uncomfortable process for a worker to perform for a long time because constantly moving platforms can lead to an uncomfortable feeling for the worker and stability of the worker.

Similarly, patent document JP2012055234 discloses a plant growing device comprising a base, multiple supports attached to the base and a support plate with a culture bed. The support plate with the culture bed is installed such that it allows the culture bed to rotate with an axis for easy harvesting of the cultivated plants by the worker. The disadvantage of this prior art device, however, is that the rotation of the grow bed is operated manually and does not guarantee correct holding of the grow bed in the same position during harvesting.
Similarly, CN206525189U discloses a frame structure with a retractable mushroom-planting basket (drawer-like structure) through which a worker can pull out the planting baskets to monitor or harvest the cultivated mushrooms. The disadvantage of this structure, however, is that the worker must have individual access to each plant basket, which is also a tiring and time-consuming process.
Thus, there remains a need to eliminate the aforementioned shortcomings in the current state of the art.
Summary of the invention:
The main objective of the present invention is to eliminate the limitations of the prior art by providing a device for growing the plants and / or fungi.

FIG. 1 illustrates a side view of a specific plant growing device (100) according to the present invention. The plant growing device (100) comprises a vertical support unit (102) coupled to at least one horizontal support unit (106). The at least one horizontal support unit (106) is further coupled to a frame (104a) by at least one hydraulic unit (108). Herein, the first end (108a) of the at least one hydraulic unit (108) is coupled to the at least one horizontal support unit (106) and a second end (108b) of the at least one hydraulic unit (108) is coupled to the frame (104a). The vertical support unit (102) is configured to provide support to the horizontal support unit (106) and includes, for example, support channels or a concrete wall.
FIG. 2 illustrates the same side view of the particular plant growing device (100) according to the present invention, but in a different phase of mushroom growing. The plant growing device (100)

FIG. 4 illustrates another side view of the plant growing device of the present invention, wherein the plant growing device (100) comprises a vertical support unit (102) coupled to at least one horizontal support unit (106). The plant growing device (100) further comprises a horizontal transport unit (110) such as a conveyor belt through which the worker (112) can transport the harvested plants from the plant growing device (100) to another unit, including, but not limited to, a cutting unit or a packaging unit . Herein, the horizontal transport unit (110) is a conveyor belt. The worker (112) picks the cultivated plants directly from the plant culture dish (104b) and places them on the horizontal transport unit (110) to transport them to the packaging unit or the cutting unit.
FIG. 5 illustrates a perspective view of the plant growing device (100) according to the present invention, wherein the plant growing device (100) comprises a mobile lift (114) through which the worker (112) can reach a certain height to follow up or harvest the plants. The mobile lift (114) can be used when at least one tiltable plant growing module (104) is placed at a height that is unreachable for the worker (112).
In the preferred embodiment, the worker uses (112), in situation where the plants are to be

BE2018 / 5537 monitored or harvested, the tiltable plant growing module (104) of the plant growing device (100) that drives the hydraulic unit (108).
The driven hydraulic unit (106) allows the tiltable plant-growing module (102) to tilt at different angles. Herein, the tiltable plant culture module (102) can be tilted at any angle by the hydraulic unit (106), the tiltable plant culture module (102) also remaining in the desired position. The worker (112) harvest the plants by hand and transports them to a cutting unit or packaging unit.
In another embodiment, the worker (112) manually picks the plants and transports them to a horizontal transport unit (110). This facilitates transfer of the plants by the worker (112) from the plant growing device (100) to another desired location.
In another embodiment, the hydraulic unit (108) is driven by a control unit (not shown), the control unit being electronically or hydraulically coupled to the hydraulic unit (108). Herein, all hydraulic units (108) of the plant growing device (100) are coupled to one control unit for access to all tiltable plant growing modules (104) or at least one hydraulic unit (108) is coupled to an individual

Although the invention has been described with respect to the preferred embodiment, it is clear that many other possible changes and variations can be made without thereby departing from the spirit and purpose of the invention.
